Halloween Fun - Part One

Ahoy mateys and Happy Halloween!

We've been celebrating for the better part of the week. And what fun we've had so far! Saturday we attended a fall festival at our church.

We enjoyed games, a hay ride and fun with friends.

Sunday, we attended a Trunk-or-Treat event at Drew's parents church. We stopped by to visit Mot (the girls' great grandmother) on the way. She gave them cute prizes and we enjoyed our visit.

Today promises to be another exciting day. Libby and Georgia Kate have a parade at school and Libby's class will be trick-or-treating at a local nursing home. Then we'll host our family tonight for one last round of trick-or-treating in our neighborhood.

Pace yourself on candy intake today. I know I've already had my fair share.

'Tis the Season

...for Fall fun, that is!

October is flying by just as quickly as the previous months this year. Over halfway through the month already? Halloween is so close. We've been in overdrive pulling costumes together for everyone in the family.

My Bunco group kicked of Halloween with a costume-themed night.

Lacking my own creativity, I took to the Internet to find an easy costume.

See if you can figure it out. (And if you can spot Waldo?)

Lots of gold and a shovel. I was a...wait for it.... GOLD DIGGER!

This weekend was the annual couples Halloween party. Every year the costumes are hilarious. Half the fun is anticipating how ridiculous everyone will look. And this year was just as entertaining.

With a creative idea from a friend and some handy work, Drew and I arrived to the party as Red Solo Cups. :)

They were a big hit. And so were our friends' costumes.

They included a flashy Dancing with the Stars couple,

Richard Simmons and a client

Allen from The Hangover

and tons of other creative ideas.

It was an entertaining night! We even managed to fit two people in a solo cup. Snug!

We have another week of Halloween festivities ahead of us. We'll hit our first Fall Festival Saturday. Libby can't wait to dress up and get her trick-or-treat on.

Pumpkin Patch

This week I had the pleasure of joining Libby's K-4 class on a field trip to the pumpkin patch. We traveled to Paradise Pumpkin Patch in Eufaula, AL.

I'm so glad I took the time to slow down and enjoy a day of fun with her and her friends.

She got to pick out her own pumpkin,

take a train ride

see some (smelly) birds

meet some animal friends

and have lots of fun!

Fall weekends

What a week. Between sickness, busyness at work and weekend activities it was a hectic one. But as usual, we made it though. Here's a recap:

Georgia Kate picked up her first cold a few weeks ago. Two-and-half weeks later, she STILL has it. The doctor checked for infections in her chest and ears, but thankfully there is none. He told us we will have to wait it out. The good news she's not in any danger, just pitiful from a nagging cold. So we must wait while her new, developing immune system learns to fight off this sickness.

Wanna see that doll baby? Of course you do!

Good Lord she's cute!

This weekend Drew and Libby went to the Auburn/Arkansas game. I was slated to go, but I didn't get to. However, Libby had a great time. She got to see tiger cubs, eat homemade ice cream, jump in a bouncy house.

And leave it to her father to find the cheerleaders! ;)

Wish I could say they had as much fun inside the stadium. Unfortunately Auburn got their tails handed to them by Arkansas. Oh well, there's always next week.

Sunday we attended Crawford Baptist Church's Homecoming service. It was such a nice day! A good service along with good food and fellowship.

We enjoyed it so much! After long naps Sunday afternoon, we're ready to welcome in a new week.

Our next exciting adventure? A field trip with Libby's class to the pumpkin patch. Happy Fall, all!
