Car wash and prayer

11:00 AM

Happy Monday to you! For many it's a holiday, but we're at work and school today. I'm okay with it, we had a great weekend and we have a busy week to look forward to.

Friday I picked up Libby and my niece Cayden from school. They are great playmates these days, so it's a win-win for everyone.

Since the weather was so nice we played outside. And I might have made the two divas wash my car with me! It's good for them, right? Besides, they LOVED it!

Libby only wanted to wash the left side of the car and toys from the yard and Cayden was more interested in the suds on the ground, but it kept them busy and they were happy.

My car looks great! {Consider yourself warned if you drop your kids off at my house!}

I thought Libby looked very pretty Sunday morning. (I always do.)

Sunday she had a prayer break through. For months we've encourage her to lead the blessing before meals. She'll do it sometimes. But usually she clams up and gets shy, especially if we are with our extended family. The last few weeks I've been able to trick her and say, "Remind me how it starts." She'd say the first line aloud, "God is great, God is good..." and we'd all join in. Yesterday at lunch, when asked, "Who can say the blessing?" She volunteered and said the whole thing out loud...in front of people! Big step!

Last night at bedtime she threw me another curve ball. She said, "I want to say my night time prayers." I said, "Okay!" Normally she'll tell me that she does NOT wish to say her prayers. So I was surprised when she announced this, unprompted. And let me say, it was the sweetest little prayer a child could offer. She said, "Thank you for the air, thank you for the rain tomorrow and thank you for Uchee and Beau (dogs at the farm). Amen." I thought my heart would burst. It. was. precious.

Once again I am reminded she will do things when she's ready. And also my first "baby" is growing up.

Have a great week!
