Disney World - Day One

11:09 AM

Our Disney trip started on a Wednesday morning. We woke early, dressed the girls and packed the car. The first stop was dropping Georgia Kate off at school. I'll be honest, I felt pretty sad about leaving her behind. I felt guilty about her not going on the trip with us (not that she had any clue what she was missing). However, this was one of the best decisions we made. More on that later...

We rode and rode, paid a few tolls and rode a little more. Then we finally made it to Orlando, FL! Wahoo!

We found our hotel and checked in. We stayed at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside in a princess-themed room. Yes, Drew was thrilled. ;)

After a quick change we headed to Magic Kingdom to get our first taste of Disney.

Since it was Wednesday evening, the crowds weren't as bad as they could be. We took in some well known sites and started into the park. We had Fast Passes scheduled to ride some awesome rides including Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain.

We hopped on several more rides that evening. We even lucked up and rode the Flying Dumbo ride twice in a row. Libby thought that was pretty cool.

We caught part of a parade that night. We chose to stay in the park late Wednesday evening and do as much as we could.

It was a successful first round of Disney World. We got back to the hotel late and crashed.

Next on the agenda: Hollywood Studios.
