Disney World - Day Two

7:30 AM

Thursday morning we awoke and got going, had breakfast and caught the bus to Hollywood Studios. This was our first full day in a park. We got off to a bumpy start. It took longer than we had planned to get to the park and it was pretty hot by mid-morning. But we made some adjustments to our schedule, figured out the layout of the park and made a strong come back.

We had Fast Passes scheduled so we structured our day around those rides. We caught a Disney Junior show and then headed to the Toy Story ride. Libby declared this her favorite ride of the day! It was really cute and we all agreed it was a fun ride.

We had a character lunch scheduled at Hollywood and Vine. We had a big lunch (and so enjoyed the air conditioning!) and Libby was tickled to meet some of her favorite Disney Jr. characters.

(If you don't have young kids, you can glaze right over this part. Ha!)

If you are up to speed on Disney Jr. characters, then you'll recognize Handy Manny, Jake, Doc McStuffins and Princess Sofia.

I recommend Hollywood and Vine if your kids are into these characters. They come right to your table, kids can get a hug, autographs and a picture. Pretty cool.

Following lunch we rode Star Tours. Not sure if it was the fact that it was a 3D ride or that it followed lunch, but I thought I was going to lose it! Drew and Libby were just fine. We found the Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area where I recovered while Libby played. I'm happy to report I made a full recovery and was good to go.

That afternoon we saw two cool shows - Beauty and the Beast (Drew opted out on this one, ha!) and the Indiana Jones stunt show.

We were able to add a few more Fast Passes that afternoon. And I broke away to ride the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. Libby wasn't tall enough so Drew volunteered to take a snack break with her while I rode.

This is in front of The Great Movie Ride, one of mine and Drew's favorites.

Libby gobbled up a classic Mickey Mouse ears ice cream while I rode the reeeally fast and wild coaster! Glad I made a point to ride.

We found a gift shop and Libby picked out these decorative pins to spruce up her Magic Band. I picked out a pack, as well. We traded pins throughout the week.

We really enjoyed Hollywood Studios! It turned out to be a really hot day - especially for October, but we rested in the shade at the shows and going in and out of the air conditioned restaurants and rides helped our attitudes. :)

After a few more rides and seeing The Legend of Jack Sparrow we rounded out the evening by meeting Buzz Lightyear and Woody.

We left the park around 8 pm. We ate dinner at our hotel. We were so hungry after a long day at the park! We retreated to our hotel room to rest for the next big day: Animal Kingdom.
