The week leading up to Thanksgiving the Iron Bowl finally is here! Everyone in the state is gearing up for the big game. Libby has already picked Alabama as the winner, I sure hope she's right!
Libby says, "Roll Tide Roll!"

Can't wait for kick off, I hope Saban and the boys come out big winners -because I can't bear another loss to Auburn!
Roll Tide!

Talk about a cold snap, it's been down right chilly this week! Good thing Uncle Drew brought Libby a very warm coat from Colorado. She's been dying to wear it - can't you tell by the look on her face? I tell myself she won't remember this when she's older. I laugh everytime I put it on her, it's just too cute!

With two big holidays just around the corner, I'm reminded of a shortfall I have...I don't cook!I've already begun dealing with this handicap as parties are being planned and sign up sheets are floating around the office, Sunday school and family gatherings. I used to push people over to get to the list so I could sign up for drinks, cups, plates and utensils. But I find that it's no fun to sign up for those things anymore, I want to make stuff. With Thanksgiving around the corner, I've already started debating what to make while being honest with myself - I have very little time to devote to shopping and cooking of specialty items. I also have to remind myself that cooking is supposed to be fun, not torture!
So, I need your help. I'm on the lookout for some easy (and don't mean easy to Martha Stewart, I mean easy) and tasty ideas. (I'm looking for an easy side dish or dessert.) I've started searching for recipes online. But if you have any tips you'd like to share, please send them my way!
Well, hop to it! There's a sign up sheet I've been avoiding that's waiting for me in the break room! :)

We have a sitter!
Libby has been practicing sitting up all by herself and she's just about got it down. I stay within a few feet of her because she's still wobbly at times, but she has the general idea. She likes having the freedom to grab her toys and bang them on the floor (poor toys!) Here are a few pictures of her playing Monday night.

The boys from Tuscaloosa got the vindication they so deserved. Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide squeaked out a 'W' over LSU. My heart rate and nerves are just returning to a normal resting state! I actually had to leave the room at the start of over-time. I just couldn't take it. I announced, "I can't watch this. Libby and I are going to play!" Thankfully, I heard my parents shouting, "Interception, interception!!!" (I'll let you imagine them screaming and jumping around the room!) I peered around the door of their living room to watch Bama score a touchdown and win the game. Sidenote: I still can't understand how Tiffin missed the field goal at the end of the game. Really? I guess the pressure got to him!
However, Bama persevered and are now 10-0. What a game...ROLL TIDE!

Alabama, the #1 ranked team in the nation, will be traveling to Death Valley to play LSU Saturday. This game is huge on so many levels - Bama is undefeated, so every game is risky. Also, LSU is a strong team and they would love nothing more than to upset their former coach, Nick Saban. I can't decide if I want to watch the game with friends, watch with my family or just hide behind my couch and cover my eyes until it's over. I'm anxious just thinking about! Attention Auburn Fans (this includes my hubby): No ostentatious cheering for LSU, I know you want them to beat us!

I made a quick trip to Birmingham and Tuscaloosa weekend. Kathryn and I went to Alabama's homecoming game. We ate lunch at the Phi Mu house, walked around sorority row to check out the homecoming decorations and cheered the Tide onto another victory! 9-0, go Bama!
After the game we hung around campus and shopped. We even went to University Mall for old times sake - and to visit The Limited. We ate at Pablo's in B'ham and were officially tuckered out when we got home! Thanks for a great day, Kat! Girl time and Alabama football... a winning combination! :)

Libby made her Halloween debut as a cow! She was a great sport and let us pass her around and take lots of pictures. We saw lots of friends and family and enjoyed the evening! We visited the Gullatt/Henry party, then went to visit the Johnsons. Libby was worn out by the end of the night, it's hard work being so cute!
