Play Date
9:00 AMThey say old friends are the best and I'll agree with that. This weekend, Libby and I took a road trip to visit two dear friends from college, Kathryn and Michelle. Both landed in Birmingham after college and are enjoying their lives there. We all keep up by e-mail, phone calls, visits and by following the blog, of course! I love that I can go three weeks or three months and pick up with them right where we left off.
Friday afternoon Libby and I loaded up the car (and I mean loaded - pack 'n play, bags, toys, snacks -whew!) and headed up HWY 280 to Birmingham. I was curious how Libby might handle the two hour drive, but to my surprise, she was a great rider. Of course toys and snacks helped distract her. We arrived at Kathryn's by early evening and stayed the night at her house. Libby had no problem feeling at home. She quickly found it fun to chase the cats and run wild in Kathryn's living room. Thank goodness she has lots of space to roam!
Saturday morning we were up and at 'em because we had more fun planned. (Once again) we loaded up and headed to Michelle and Chad's house for a play date. Michelle is the mommy to 2 1/2 year old Hunter and 3 month-old Shep.

It only took a few minutes for Libby and Hunter get acquainted. We spent the morning moving around the house (the kitchen, to the playroom to Hunter's room) watching the girls play while we caught up on each other's lives.
I enjoyed spending time with these ladies, we have so many funny memories together and it's so nice to be able to share our "now" lives with each other. Children, jobs, daily drama - I think we covered it all!
Thanks again, Kat and Michelle, for hosting us! I appreciate our time together so much! Love you both!

It was an awesome weekend! You have an open invitation any time you want to come visit! But I know it's my turn to head your way next time. Libby is such a joy...I love being Aunt KK with her!
