Tree time
8:00 AMWe made our annual trip to Lakeside Christmas Tree Farm. Sadly, this is Lakeside's last year in business. The owner is retiring and the family is phasing out of the business. They estimated they'd have a enough trees to make it through the season, then that will be all she wrote. Sad! We have taken Libby every year since she's been born and I can remember going with my family when I was a kid. I love the memories we've made.
I tried to soak it all in on our last trip to the tree farm. We loaded up for the hay ride to the field.
And like she'd been doing it for years, Libby unloaded the wagon and began directing us to the trees.
She kept running back to this little tree. She really liked it!
And after we found the perfect tree, we headed back to the tractor and wagon for a ride back.
The tree was the exact right height. Even a half-inch taller and we'd have been in trouble! Drew and I agree that it's one our favorite trees we've ever had. I think maybe it's because we know it is the last one from our favorite tree farm.
I hope your Christmas season is off to a great start.
"An angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:20, 21
