Blue Mountain
7:00 AMWe are home again after spending a great week on the Gulf Coast. We stayed in Blue Mountain, FL with Drew's family. The week flew by, as it always does when you're having fun.
This year Libby's cousin, Cayden, was big enough to be her play mate. Libby, being the pro with beach toys, had a lot to teach Cayden.
They collected and scooped and dumped and kicked a lot of sand!
And spent time running knee-deep in the water.
(Bet you're humming a Zac Brown Band song, aren't you? Fine, here's the video, but don't so get relaxed and happy that you forget to finish reading this post!)
In between working on my tan, I was lucky enough to scoop at least 327 buckets of water for Libby. But that's what moms and dads do, so we did it!
Libby loved being in the pool this year. She was able to show off her newly-learned swimming skills. And we were proud.
We grilled out by the pool (hamburgers and fish caught that day by Drew, David and Nona). Libby was a happy camper!
We made two trips to the way overpriced ice cream shop. Can you see the chocolate ice-cream induced smile on her face? Yeah, it was pretty good.
I had a photo shoot with the girls. Cute, cute, cute!
Drew, DaDa and Libby searched for sea creatures along the shore.
They caught pompano, whiting, crabs and sand fleas. (Sounds like a marine biology lesson to me.)
The last night of our trip the three of us ventured out for dinner. We ate at Smiling Fish Cafe, just down the road from our condo on 30-A. We dined outside with a view of the ocean. Our food was good and Libby displayed exemplary behavior. (I feel that I should highlight these moments, as they tend to be few and far between when you are three-years-old.)
I probably don't have to tell you how nice it was to get away and just be beach bums for the week. We soaked up the sun, ate too much and enjoyed not being at work -- oops!
It was a great trip. We love you beach and promise to be back soon!
