Ninth Month

1:30 PM

Ninth month?! Wow, I am SO pregnant right now. To say that I'm ready is an understatement. But each day when my alarms goes off (usually after a restless night of bits and pieces of sleep) I have a pep talk with myself saying things like, "You can do this. You can get out of bed. You can find clothes that still fit you. You can hang on for another day. You are lucky to be carrying this healthy baby. Now, where are my Tums?"

I'm staying focused on my due date, which is June 5. Any glamour or cuteness that I might have once felt, well that's way out the window these days. But I'm in the home stretch with less than three weeks to go. I can do it, I can do it!

Baby is the size of: A small monster? Wait, no, she's between five and six pounds.

Symptoms: My acid re flux has kicked into overdrive in the last week. I empathize with those who have it on a regular basis. I pray mine will be gone in a few weeks.

Maternity clothes: What else would fit me right now? Don't answer that, it probably won't be kind!

Sleep: The leg cramps have stopped, but I just can't seem to stay asleep for more than two hours at a time. I am exhausted, but can't get the amount of sleep I need. However, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. And that light tells me I won't be sleeping with a newborn, anyway. ;)

Fun moment(s) this past week/month: Both of the girls' rooms have been decorated and they look great. I promise to post pictures soon. The baby's nursery is ready and I find myself standing in her room anticipating her arrival. Even though I've already had a baby, it's hard to envision life with a newborn.

Movement: She's running out of room in my belly since she's so big, but she still moves all throughout the day and night.

Food cravings/aversions: Still no specific cravings. I have, however, learned not to eat big meals late at night. If I do, my enemy, acid re flux, has a field day.

Gender & Name: A girl. We still haven't committed to a name. I'm pretty sure I'll decide while in the hospital.

Weight gained: 32 lbs

What I am looking forward to: Her birthday, of course! I only have two week left at work and the countdown is on. I have an ultrasound early next week so it will be fun to see her on the monitor. There's still several little things that need to be done before she arrives. So we'll be busy finishing up all the last minute details.

The next baby-related post should have some exciting news! Please pray for me, the baby and our family as we embark on the wonderful and scary time of actually having the baby. I'm scheduled to undergo a C-section, so please pray for my doctor, the nursing staff and both baby and me. I appreciate your prayers!

I had all of the same junk you are having, but as you know it tends to be gone immediately after delivery - hang on!!
