Seventh Month

7:25 AM

I've made it to the third trimester. Hallelujah!

Libby displaying seven fingers. Disregard her silly face. She was not exactly cooperating. More exciting things were catching her attention, like wanting to pick flowers.

I'm 28 weeks and in the last trimester of my pregnancy. I have mixed emotions. At times I feel like this pregnancy has been fast. Other times I feel like I've been pregnant for years! I am hopeful the last 12 weeks will go smoothly and quickly. Of course I still have a lot left to do before the baby arrives. I am eager to get her to do list checked off.

Baby is the size of: Head of cabbage. According to the ultrasound this week, she weighs 3 lbs.

Symptoms: Major growth spurts (as in my belly) and my heartburn is still hanging around.

Maternity clothes: Of course. A few weeks ago I walked around Macy's and just stroked the clothes. They were so pretty. I may have whispered, "I miss you" to the racks.

Sleep: I pulled out my body pillow that I'd put away since my last pregnancy and it's wonderful. It really does help me sleep more comfortably. I can only imagine what I must look like chucking so many pillows out of the way when I have to get up in the middle of the night to make my run to the restroom - flat pillow, fluffy pillow, body pillow, covers, cat. It's kind of a production!

Fun moment(s) this past week: Libby's "big girl" bed and new furniture are scheduled to be delivered this Thursday. We moved the crib, dresser and changing table into the baby's nursery. Let the decorating in both rooms commence. A not so fun moment from the past week was that I was in a wreck. Baby and I are fine as were my co-workers that were riding with me. A man rear-ended my car as we were waiting to merge into traffic. Grrr! But everyone was fine and that is a blessing. My bumper, however, didn't fair so well and will have to be replaced.

Movement: She moves A LOT. She wiggled all throughout her ultrasound this week! We even got a picture of her yawning. Aww!

Food cravings/aversions: Not craving any one food over another. But I am trying to steer clear of spicy foods. The heartburn afterwards is NOT worth the enjoyment of the food. :(

Gender & Name: Girl and still no name. We are working on this. But I'm wondering if we'll ever decide.

Weight gained: 18 lbs.

What I am looking forward to: I'm really getting ready to meet this baby! I wonder what she'll look like, who she'll act like and what kind of baby will she be. I'm so curious to find out if my two girls will have similarities or be like night and day. We also are planning to take Libby to the beach this weekend. It'll be nice to get away and we want to give her some special time before the new baby rocks her world arrives.

I'm happy to report the baby got a great report at my 28 week check up. Strong heart beat, good growth and good check-up overall. Here's to an exciting 12 weeks to come!

  3. You look fabulous! Too funny that I can identify with almost everything you said. Last night, I woke Josh up re-pillowing my "nest" after a middle of the night bathroom trip. I also had a little wreck- I'm blaming mine on "pregnancy brain"! Hope you guys have fun at the beach! I'm jealous of that part! :)

Girl you look so good and I love that picture of Libby holding 7 fingers...precious!
They say heartburn is a sign of a baby with a head full of hair so looks like you will be having alot of bows.

  6. You look great! Don't worry it was a couple of day's after Caleb was born until we decided on a name. it wasn't until the Dr. was pressing on it that we decided on the spur of a moment. I would'nt recommending looking at her that we were going to do with Caleb he came out and we said he looks like a baby, Just saying!
