FEELS LIKE HOME TO ME

It was kiddie friendship at first sight!

And the best part? I got to spend time with good friends...who all happen to be wearing their black suits, too.

It was very HOT - the temps were in the upper 90's! But all the kids (and moms) hung in there. I enjoyed the day think this is going to become an annual trip. Can't wait to do it again!

Also, I've been on a colorful toe nail kick and found a polish for my toes that I love.

Hello Yellow!

We had a fun adventure today with Libby and some friends at Callaway Gardens. I'll share the details and lots of pictures in my next post.

I found that if I got up early, I got to enjoy "me" time. The view from my porch. - very serene and quiet at 8 am!

The final night of the conference there was a dance. This year's dance was themed, "Go Green". This is the whole group before dinner.

We arrived home Friday evening and boy was I glad to be off the bus and not having to answer a thousand drama-filled questions! (When are we going to eat? I'm starving! I'm hot! I'm cold! When are we going to eat? My ipod is dying. Do you care if I wear shorts? When are we going to eat?)

I highly recommend grabbing a pack on your next trip down the bread isle. There are several brands to choose from, let me know if you have a favorite. I plan on buying more very soon!

And changing the subject one more time...

My friends Ginger and Jeff (Baby E) left Saturday for Ethiopia to bring their baby boy home. They have an exciting and busy two weeks ahead of them. Please pray for them as they travel, meet Judah and bring him back to the States and begin their new life together. I can't imagine the excitement they are feeling!

Last weekend we made another trip to Florida. This trip catered more to those who like to fish...mainly my husband. He's been a good sport and been to the beach twice with us in the last couple of months, so he was due this trip.

Thankfully there was no oil, but it was breezy several days. The windy conditions wasn't ideal for fishing, but it was nice to enjoy on the boat. When the boys weren't fishing, Drew took me and Libby out for a few adventures.

The first was letting Libby "fish".

She wasn't the least bit bothered that she didn't catch a fish. She told me, "I caught a flower." Precious!

Libby was on the fence about riding in the boat. Though she didn't cry or seem frightened, she made she sure she sat in my lap and didn't move an inch when the boat was running. Right before Drew snapped this picture I had asked her, "Can you see? Are you comfortable?" She said, "No move, momma!" I don't think she could see a thing, but she was brave, that's for sure.

The other adventure was taking a trip to a sand flat up the river that was very similar to a beach. It was such a hit that we went there two days in a row.

We found a spot we liked and put out the anchor. This picture is very Pirates of the Caribbean.

Though she did take breaks to wave to the passing boats!

She really enjoyed swimming and I think she would have waded out to the middle if we hadn't insisted that she hold on to one of us at all times.

The guys took a few trips by themselves to do some serious fishing (*snicker*) so us girls entertained ourselves. My mother-in-law remembered a cute ice cream parlor in downtown Apalach...yum!

I was a good trip, they seem to go by too quickly. Now that we're settled again, I'm taking a group of students from the college to a state-wide conference this week - pray for me! I always enjoy myself, but of course I hate to leave Drew and Libby behind.

Hi blog readers! Hope you had a fun, patriotic and safe Fourth of July holiday. We did and I am just getting back to a normal schedule. I can't wait to share pictures of our most recent trip, but until then, look this old church.

Isn't it charming and interesting? It's the United Methodist Church in Marvyn, Al. It's really old and looks like it holds some very interesting stories.

This church sits next door to Drew's grandmother's house. Every time we visit her I catch myself wondering about this church. If you are local, you can find the church by traveling out Hwy 80 from Crawford. If you're not careful you will miss Marvyn, it's just a small spot in the country. It sits on the corner of Hwy 80 and Ala Hwy 51 towards Opelika.
